County Flock G95 was founded in 1936 by the late Bob Morris of Newtown Bannow, Co. Wexford, at the tender age of just 10 years.

The foundation flock consisted of five ewes purchased from the Kiltra Flock, owned by neighbour the late John Boyd of Kiltra House, Wellington Bridge, Co. Wexford. To complete the flock, a ram was purchased at the Suffolk Pedigree Sale held at Dublin Cattle Mart in Prussia Street, Dublin. This ram was transported back to Wexford in the back of a car by another good neighbour, the late Arthur Sweetman. Later, the flock was taken over by Bob’s nephew Patric Rossiter.

Over the following years, the flock expanded significantly, with much of its progeny going on to establish other flocks throughout the country. The County Flock was exhibited at numerous shows across the southeast, earning many accolades and rosettes.
The flock achieved notable success at Wexford shows, being awarded the Co. Wexford Marts Perpetual Cup for Supreme Champion in 2002, 2007, 2009, and 2023. The County Flock also claimed the Poole Cup for the best group of three ram lambs exhibited at Co Wexford Sheep Breeders Show and Sale on numerous occasions over the past 90 years.

At a national level, the County Flock has frequently exhibited a pen of five ewes at the Premier Show and Sale held at J.P. & M. Doyle’s sales yard in Maynooth.

The flock has enjoyed success also in the Shearling Ram Clas at the Society’s National Championship in 2019 by bringing home the John Joe Mitchell Memorial Cup, further highlighting its consistent quality and standing within the breed.

Patrick wishes to thank the Irish Suffolk Sheep Society for nominating him for Hall of Fame award for 2026.
