The Department of Agriculture Food and the Marine have today confirmed the following information
Currently there is no UK South of Ireland Suffolk Sheep Breed Society recognised by this Department under the Animal Breeding Regulations. Therefore, they have no breeding programme approved to permit purebred breeding animals to be entered into a breeding book and obtain Zootechnical certificates. These animals cannot be considered as purebred and be entered in the Irish Suffolk Sheep Society breeding book that is operating under the provisions of the Animal Breeding Regulations.
